Doug Freberg, Founder
Prior to founding Digital Signergy LLC, Doug has accumulated broad experience in a variety of entrepreneurial ventures. His principal field of expertise has been in energy for the oil and gas exploration and hydropower electricity generation domestically and in Brazil.
While not an attorney, he has significant experience with business formation, contracts, leases, development agreements and regulatory compliance. For almost twenty years, he worked as a lobbyist in Washington, DC and in that role led several large coalitions that successfully convinced the U.S. Congress to provide critical regulatory and legislative reforms to his clients. He has managed his family’s oil and gas interests under Seven F Production Company, Inc. for over twenty-five years and has successfully run his own political consulting business in Washington, D.C.
In 2000 Doug founded Todo Trading Company Inc. focusing on business development in Brazil. His first project was representing a US-Russia scientific group selling high technology services to Petrobras. He has since successfully closed ethanol trades between Brazilian suppliers and US buyers and worked in Brazil with U. S. hydropower developers to identify investment and partnership and research and development opportunities in power projects.
He raised government funds to support a private company’s education reform business and private monies to fund a start up Energy Company. Throughout his wide-ranging business experience he has demonstrated the ability to find solutions to problems and to bring together divergent cultures and personalities. He is a graduate of Baylor University with a B.A. in Foreign Service and a resident of Texas.
Jose C. Romano, Founder
Prior to founding Digital Signergy, Jose served as the Sales & Marketing Director at Sharp Electronics Latin America Group. He was responsible for both short-range and long-range planning related to sales strategies, marketing strategies and product development. What sets him apart is a clear understanding of how sales must be the driver for all marketing programs.
At Sharp, Jose created the Sharp Virtual TV Network, the first pan-regional, retail based, digital signage TV network in Latin America. He successfully led his division at Sharp to 12 successive quarters of achieving budget and an overall growth rate of more than 14% and increases in profitability of more than 10%. José is an “accountability champion,” or that new breed of CEO who drives multiple business proficiencies – analytical and financial – towards the common goal of better marketing performance.
Prior to Sharp, José has held a number of marketing and media positions at Miami-based companies, including GDA, S.A., The Miami Herald and Ryder System, Inc. In addition, Jose has founded two other companies in the marketing space, Just Logo It and A La Carte Marketing & Promotions.
Jose has his MBA in Marketing from the University of Texas and an International Finance degree from Georgetown University. Jose serves on various community Boards, including the Mercy Hospital Foundation and the Orange Bowl Committee where he serves as the Chairman of the Marketing Committee. He has been asked to speak regularly at International Advertising Association (IAA) events and was named one of the “40 under 40” media entrepreneurs by Internationalist Magazine.
Miguel A. Suarez, Founder
Prior to founding Digital Signergy Miguel held the position of National Sales Manager for Sharp Electronics in Brazil. Miguel led the team that guided and instructed new company top management through initial set up phase in all aspects of reestablishing Sharp Business in Brazil. Miguel re established business with key dealers including setting up credit limits, contracts and forecasting tools to take over Sharp Distribution in Brazil. He directly managed 50 dealers in Brazil with staff of 2 salesmen and 3 administration staff.
His efforts resulted in resurgence of the Sharp brand for the products he managed and increases in sales of 27%. Prior to Sharp, Miguel was a voracious entrepreneur in the telecom field where he founded and sold several successful businesses including Bluewater Worldwide Investments where he was Owner and CFO. Bluewater was a Telecom Company specializing in pre paid phone cards sales both retail and wholesale throughout the USA.
Miguel introduced prepaid calling cards to local South Florida market. Miguel established several brands of calling cards. He also developed local distribution network servicing gas stations / convenience stores and wholesale distributors. Managed and supplied over 500 retail outlets. He grew the company to over $12 million in sales and Successfully sold business and trademarks to RJM Inc. where he became Vice President and specialized in brokering minutes to other long distance carriers involved in selling debit pre paid phone cards throughout the USA and built the revenues in that division by more than 50%.
His education includes a BA with a Major in English and General Business from 1979-1983 at the University of Miami – Coral Gables, FL and a Master in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing and Finance gained from 1983-1985 at the University of Miami – Coral Gables, FL.
